Jerry Wells (81) of Effingham

Jerry Wells, 81, of Effingham, died at 11:47 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Il.

There will be no services at this time. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements. Jerry was born on Tuesday, January 9, 1940 to Samuel and Gladys (Baker) Wells in Los Angeles. During his working career he had been employed by Hughes (Boeing) Aircraft in California as a lab technician developing cables for aerospace satellites. He was a US Army veteran. He married Ildiko Anne Marie Seamore and she preceded him in death on August 8, 1996.

He is survived by: his son, Erich Daniel Wells of Fayetteville, North Carolina; stepsons, Jeremiah Ellsworth Johnson of Las Vegas, NV and Michael Davis of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter, Katherina Anne Marie (fiancé, Michael James Hammond) Wells of Altamont; sister, Nanette Bridle of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Samuel Wells, Jr. and Thomas Wells; sisters, Cora Usry and Shirley Wiseman.
