Richard A. Hand, 58, of Altamont, died at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Memorials may be made to the family.

Richard Alan Hand was born on Monday, December 23, 1963 in East St. Louis, IL to Harold W. and Shirley (Bailey) Hand.

He is survived by: his son, Dawson (Shelbi Stone) Hand of St. Elmo; daughters, Heather Hand of St. Elmo, Steffanie (Kameryn Keller) Gordon of Altamont, Destiny (Billy Patton) Hand of St. Elmo and Shyan (Thomas Forbes) Hand of St. Elmo; sisters, Betty Hodge of Altamont, Vickie (John) Hodge of Campbell Hill, Il and Patricia Wheeler of Hodgenville, KY and 6 grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Steven and Tony Hand; sister, Gina Stroud.
