Floyd C. Dial, 77, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Cowden, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, IL.

Floyd was born on July 3, 1944, in Moultrie County, the son of George Clement and Dora Alma (Logue) Dial. Floyd was a sweet soul who enjoyed being around people and always tried to lend a helping hand to others. He enjoyed working puzzles, playing checkers, listening to music and bowling. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved cats. Floyd adored his Shelby County Community Services family and friends.

Floyd leaves behind two sisters: Iola Tate of Monticello and Peggy Tucker of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews and his extended family at Shelby County Community Services.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Elvin W. Dial and sisters: Iva Wuersch, Leona Craig and Lucy M. Dilley.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Antonio R. Sutton officiating. Burial will take place in Mound Cemetery in rural Cowden. Memorials may be made in Floyd’s name to Shelby County Community Services and mailed to 302 W. Main Street, Shelbyville, IL 62565. Lockart-Green Funeral Home is assisting the family.
