Dana Marie Dittamore (55) of Charleston

Dana Marie Dittamore, 55, of Charleston, IL, passed away at 12:56 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Aperion Care, St. Elmo, IL.

Dana was born on November 29, 1965, in Springfield, IL, the adopted daughter of Larry Xon Barnes and Barbara A. (O’Donnell) Barnes. She married Jerry Dittamore on December 8, 1995, in Effingham, IL.

Dana attended Effingham High School and Lake Land College. After graduation she worked for Michael Borries as a bookkeeper. She also worked at First Mid Bank in Charleston and for the Coles County Treasurer Office in Charleston.

Dana enjoyed TV especially the Quiz shows. She passed her time playing with her dogs, Olivia and Oliver, and the cat from hell, Kitty, given to her by her nephew, Nicholas Barnes when he moved to St. Louis, MO. Dana enjoyed the yearly trips to Cancun with her husband, Jerry. She also found joy painting and coloring books.

Dana is survived by her husband, Jerry; mother, Barbara A. Barnes; brothers, Craig and Mark; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry.
