Gordon Albert Scholl, Sr. (77) of Altamont

Gordon Albert Scholl, 78 years old, of Altamont passed away peacefully early Sunday evening October 22, 2021 at 6:00 PM at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday Afternoon October 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont with Mike Plummer of the Fillmore Baptist Church speaking. Visitation for family and friendswill be conducted from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm on Sunday October 24, 2021 at the Kull Funeral Chapel before the time of services. Military Burial Rites will be conducted by the Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post #512 at Union Cemetery, Altamont immediately following the funeral service.

Gordon was born into the family of Merlin and Marcella School on March 24, 1943 in Red Wing Falls, Minnesota. Gordon graduated from high school and enlisted in U.S. Navy, serving during the Viet Nam Conflict. Over the years Gordon was employed as an over-the-road truck driver and retired from Risinger Brothers Trucking in 2004. He married Doris Marie Brosius on December 15, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She proceeded him in death on January 5, 2006. Gordon loved all his children and grandchildren beyond measure. He was always ready to support his family and his community. Gordon was a proud veteran and also enjoyed volunteering. He was a member of the Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post #512 Altamont, the Gold Wing Riders, and the Illinois Patriot Guard. Memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post #512 548 East US Hwy #40, Altamont, IL 62411 and or the donor’s choice.

Gordon is survived by his: Domestic Partner of 15 years Marilyn Sue Wiggins of Vandalia, Illinois and her daughter: Joyce Lee (Gary) Miller of Fillmore, Illinois; 2-Sons: Gordon Albert Scholl Jr. of Effingham, Illinois and Kenneth (wife, Marie) Wright Sr. of Florida; 4-Daughters: Tina (husband Harold) Mull of Effingham, Illinois, Donna (husband, Richard) Hunnicutt of Roff, Oklahoma, Peggy (husband, Jerry) Wimberlyof Riverside, California and Brenda Yeater of West Virginia; 4-Brothers: Joe (wife, Penny) Scholl, Dick (wife, Patty) Scholl, Jerry Scholl and Bob Scholl, all of Minnesota; 2-Sisters: Arlene Johnson and Kathy (husband, Gary) Feyen; Sister-in-law: Jessie L. Brosius; and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: Parents; Wife; Brother Ron Scholl; and Brother-in-law: Kenneth Lee Brosius.
