Vera M. Hall, 79, of rural Newton passed away at 12:25pm Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Funeral services celebrating Vera’s life will be held at 10:00 AM – Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Caleb Higginbotham officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 PM – Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  

Vera was born on March 30, 1942, in Stringtown, Illinois, the daughter of Leo and Marcella (Kocher) Hahn.  She was a graduate of Olney High School, class of 1960. Vera married Haroldean “Red” Hall on May 27, 1972 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2008.  

She graduated from Olney High School in 1960.  

Vera was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.

Vera was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois.  She enjoyed praying the Rosary, reading, listening to Polka music, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Vera is survived by-Children – Terry (Julie) Hall of Cisne, Illinois and DeAnn Hall of Newton, Illinois

Grandchildren – Jocelyn Hall, Maddelynn Hall, Shaelynn Hall, Destiny (Michael) Hammack, Tara Larrison, Peyton Canada and Logan Canada.

Siblings – Loran “Bud” (Sharon) Hahn of Laughlin, Nevada; Ruth Seiler of Joliet, Illinois and Sylvia Volk of Wendelin, Illinois

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Scott Hall.
