Roger L. Stephens age 80, of Greenup, IL. passed away at 10:27am Monday, September 20, 2021 at his residence.
Services will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
Roger was born in Huntington, IN. on October 17, 1940 to Paul and Opal (Kuntz) Stephens. He married Jackie Bell in 1977 and she preceded him in death in 2011. Roger is survived by his children, Scott (Anya) Stephens of Avon, IN and Cheryl (Mike) Devall of Greenup, IL; Jackie’s children Susie, Mike, Terri, Harold, Missy, and Jamie; grandchildren, Brandon, Logan, Nikita, Maxim, and Ariana; great grandchild, Layden Anthony; sister, Sue Boggs. Also surviving is his beloved pug “Bunnie”. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gean, Junior, Jim, and Don Stephens.
Roger was a truck driver for Overnight Transport in Phoenix, AZ. for over 25 years.
Roger served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 – 1963. He was a member of the Greenup VFW and the American Legion.
Memorials can be made to either the Sarah Bush Cancer Center or Cumberland County Veterans Association.
