Terry L. Brothers age 68, of Newton passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Crain Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Rick Britton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Brick Cemetery, Newton, Illinois with military rites by Jasper Post No. 20 of the American Legion. Memorial gifts honoring Terry may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Support Fund.

Terry was born on October 1, 1952 in Effingham, Illinois the son of Victor James Brothers and Yvonne Dow Britton. Terry faithfully served his country in Vietnam. On April 27, 1995, Terry married Emily Pearl LeFever. She survives. Terry was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver, having spent his life working road construction. In his free time, Terry enjoyed working in his yard and watching movies. He especially loved movies featuring Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. He was a past member of Winterrowd Masonic Lodge.

Terry will be loved and remembered by his wife Emily Pearl Brothers of Newton; sons Justin Brothers of Danville and Bake Brothers of Newton; daughter-in-law Heather Brothers of Lebanon, IL; two grandsons Trey and Ayden Brothers; brother Brett (Brenda) Brothers of Charleston; sister Vickie (Dave) Fuson of Flora and Lori Carter of Newton; aunt and uncle Gene (Joyce) Dow of Hidalgo; two nephews; one niece; five great-nephews and several cousins.

His father, mother, step-father Beryl “Bake” Britton, two step-brothers, two- sisters and nephew Cody Britton preceded him in death.
