Virginia M. "Ginny" Huelsing (81) of Teutopolis

Virginia "Ginny" Huelsing, 81, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at her home in Teutopolis.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to time of mass Friday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to HSHS St. Anthony Health Occupation Program or HSHS Home Care Southern Illinois.

Ginny was born November 16, 1939 in McLeansboro, the daughter of Howard and Novie (Nations) Sneed. She graduated from Julia F. Burnham School of Nursing in 1961 and from Charleston Memorial School of Anesthesia in Charleston, West Virginia in 1963. Ginny worked from 1964-2006 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital as manager of Anesthesia/Surgery. She then continued her work at Louem Tenen Ast. Healthsouth Surgery Center in Marion for 9 years. Ginny retired and enjoyed the most prized title she carried and that was "Granny".

On Jan. 16, 1965, she married Vincent J. Huelsing, and he preceded her in death in 2015. Ginny was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. She enjoyed traveling and going on rides looking at crops when Vincent was alive, going to Branson to see the OakRidge Boys; but most of all, spending time with her kids and precious granddaughters and newest addition to the family great grandson, Grayson.

Ginny is survived by her son, Scott (Judy) Huelsing of Teutopolis; daughters, Stacey (David) Huelsing-Dhein of Arvada, Colo. and Stephanie (Donavyn) Seay of Champaign; four granddaughters, Hannah (Eric) Whitaker, Ashley and Sidney Huelsing, and Sophia Seay; great-grandson, Grayson Whitaker; sister, Karen (Charles) Shupe of Albion and brother-in-law, William Hatcher of Mcleansboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Vincent J. Huelsing and her sister, Delores Hatcher.
