Albert F. Tonn, age 89, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church in Altamont, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Revered David Speers will be officiating. Burial will be at Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials may go to St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church general fund or the donor’s choice. Albert was born on February 18, 1932 in Mason, Illinois the son of Ernest and Emilie (Schaefer) Tonn. He married Lucinda “Cindy” Meier on October 28, 1956 at St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church in Altamont, Illinois. Albert was in the United States Army 50th Signal Corps during Korean War from 1952-1954. He was a member of the St. Paul Blue Point Lutheran Church and Edgewood American Legion Post #1168. Albert was a lifelong dairy farmer. He enjoyed farming with his sons, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending Tonn reunions, going to tractor shows, and square dancing with his wife.

He is survived by his sons, Ronnie Tonn (wife Deanna) of Mason, Illinois, Kevin Tonn (wife Christina) of Mason, Illinois, Terry Tonn of Mason, Illinois; sister, Ruth Magnus (husband Hilmer) of St. Peter, Illinois; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Emilie Tonn; wife, Cindy Tonn; son, Dennis Ray Tonn; brothers, Verne Tonn in infancy and Marvin Tonn; sister, Esther Webster; beloved niece, Karen Kay Wendte.
