Lorene Roadarmel, 99, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 7:23 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 in Heartland Senior Living, Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Cowden First Christian Church in Cowden, IL, with Rev. Darrell Hinkle officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – noon Saturday in the church. Please wear masks and practice social distancing. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be made to Cowden First Responders, Heartland Senior Living – Activity Fund, or Donor’s Choice and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Lorene was born June 25, 1921, in Lakewood Township, IL, Shelby County to John H. and Vella M. (Christy) Specht. She married Carl Roadarmel on December 20, 1941 in the Light House Mission Church in St. Louis, MO by Rev. C.A. McDonald. Lorene graduated from Cowden High School in the Class of 1939. She worked for Banning Grocery in Cowden, sold Real Estate for Gaddis Realtors in Shelbyville, was a homemaker and helped on the farm.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cowden. She was a loving mother to her sons, Tom (Maggie) and Larry (Sandy) of Beecher City, IL. She was a proud grandmother to Todd (Tammy) of Wentzville, MO, Amy (Marcus) of Palm Bay, FL, and Lee (Jessica) of Beecher City, IL. She was G.G. to three great grandsons she adored, Lance, Luke, and Logan of Beecher City, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Tom; brother, Wendell Specht; and sisters, Frieda Rieger and Carolyn Lockart.
