Keith Wilson Wilhour, 87, of Beecher City, IL, passed away at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Kaskaskia Church in Beecher City, IL, with Pastor Nick Robertson officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Kaskaskia Church. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Rosamond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, IL with military rites by the Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Kaskaskia Church, Beecher City, IL or Gideons International and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Keith was born on October 11, 1933, the son of Maurice Walton and Lillie Mae (Wilson) Wilhour. Keith was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston where he earned his Master’s Degree. Keith taught Spanish and English at Cerro Gordo and Brownstown and was a guidance counselor at Beecher City and Cowden schools. He married Janice Lurelle Whitaker on December 24, 1955. Keith attended Kaskaskia Church and was a member of the Shelbyland Camp of Gideons International. He enjoyed playing bridge and was a Life Master Bridge Player.

Keith is survived by his wife, Lurelle; daughter, Julie Barnhart (Steve) of North Olmsted, OH; son, Joel Wilhour of Jay, FL; brother, Don Wilhour (Shirley) of Pana, IL; sister, Janice Buckley (Dick) of Cerro Gordo, IL; brother-in-law, Jerry Gudauskas of McHenry, IL; grandchildren, Ben Barnhart (Liz) and Summer Wilhour; and great grandchildren, Ezra and Silas Barnhart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ross Wilhour; and sister, Doris Gudauskas.
