William J. "Jerry" Toland (74) of Shelbyville

William J. “Jerry” Toland, 74, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 6:21 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville to celebrate Jerry’s life. Memorials may be made in Jerry’s name to the donor’s favorite charity. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.

Jerry was born on March 30, 1946, in Newton, the son of Harry and Anna (Smith) Toland. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jerry and Marsha Stockton were married, in Newton, on April 27, 1979. Jerry enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and time spent with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Marsha Toland of Shelbyville; daughter, Billie Toland of Shelbyville; granddaughter, Kelsey Toland of Shelbyville; brother, Roy (Mary) Toland of Newton; sister, Mary (Tom) Dort of Florida and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Thomas Toland.
