Susan “Jan” Koester, 65, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at home with family by her side.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Due to Covid-19 concerns, please wear a mask for all services and follow all social distancing guidelines. Limitations to gathering size will be observed. Jan was born on May 29, 1955, in Albuquerque, NM, the daughter of Riley and Doris (McCormick) Apgar. Jan enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She had a love for books and reading. Family and friends were very important to Jan and she enjoyed spending time with them.
Jan is survived by her son, Matthew Hall of Altamont; grandchildren, Gracie, Reece, Riley, and Ari; brother, Scott Apgar; sister, Maureen Trinkle; and nieces, Jessi Vancil, Sara Colvin, Heather Vancil, and Stacey Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
