Barbara White, 86, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Springfield, MO.

Private family funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Due to Covid-19 concerns, please wear a mask for all services and follow all social distancing guidelines. Barbara was born on March 28, 1934, Effingham, IL, the daughter of August and Helen (Newbanks) Stortzum. She married the love of her life Ronald A. White on April 8, 1956 in Effingham. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2016. Barbara loved traveling with her husband and family. She enjoyed working at McDonalds as a lobby steward. She was a lifetime member of the Lutheran church and had a great faith in God. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her children, Brenda Stewart of Effingham, Jeanette (Doug) Nihiser of Springfield, MO, and Cynthia (Ron Ferguson) Bond of Decatur; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Harpool, Matthew (Tonya) Marsh, Christopher Stewart, Heather Bond, Joseph Bond, Brandi (Amanda) Nihiser, and Ashley (T.J.) Marshall; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Drew, Samantha, Adrian, Braydon, Isaiah, Ashaun, Kai, Willie, Ciera, and Derik; and great-great-grandchildren, Hailey, Amelia, Noah, Sawyer, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; granddaughter, Nichole Marsh; and sisters, Evelyn and Helen; and brother, Herb.
