Charles V. “Chuck” Lampley, Sr. age 81, of Jewett, Illinois, passed away at 7:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2021, at his home.

Charles better known as “Chuck” was born on April 4, 1939, in Sesser, Illinois, the son of Charles Earnest and Cleta (Cockrum) Lampley. He married Diane Bland on December 6, 1960, in Steger, Illinois, and she survives. Chuck entered the services of our country on February 7, 1958, serving in the United States Army Calvary division. He was honorably discharged on January 25, 1960. Chuck had worked at Trailmobile and Stevens Industries. He also installed roofs and did other jobs. Chuck was a loving husband, father to his two sons and grandpa to his grandchildren. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, play cards, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, gardening, mowing, fishing, and bird and squirrel watching.

Chuck served on the Jewett Village board for many years and owned and operated the Yard Sale Store in Jewett.

Chuck is survived by: Wife of 60 years – Diane Lampley of Jewett, Illinois; Sons – Charles V. (wife Lori) Lampley, Jr. of Charleston, Illinois and James W. (wife Patricia) Lampley of Portland, Texas; Grandchildren – Nathan Lampley, Drew Lampley, Wynter Huckaba, Michael Chism, Payton Chism, Cassidy Lampley and Kaitlyn Lampley; Great Grandson – Jeremiah Lampley.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack and Jimmy Lampley; sisters Darlene Cooper and Sue Cooper; sisters-in-law Esther Harms, Sally Adams, JoAnn Clements, and Dawn Bland; brothers-in-law Jim Bland and Charles Bland.
