Ethel Hetzel Haley (100) of Crystal Lake, formerly of Shelbyville

Ethel Hetzel Haley, 100, of Crystal Lake, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Bickford Senior Living in Crystal Lake IL.

Ethel was born at home on August 1, 1920, in Bond County, IL, the daughter of William and Suzannah Hetzel. She married Marshall Haley in 1948. Ethel was a resident of Shelbyville from 1948 until 2012, when she moved to the Chicago area to be near her daughter. Ethel was a member of the Nazarene Church of Shelbyville and was known for her walking, love of children and her laughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Tucker and husband Leroy; three grandchildren: Andy, Rob and Emily and nine great-grandchildren: Allie, Gavin, Owen, Brielle, Wesley, Jordan, Adan, Brain and Evan.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville, IL. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL is assisting the family. Family and friends are invited to light a candle or share a story in Ethel’s honor by clicking here.
