Madonna R. Bushur, 86, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Willowbrook Memory Support Residences in Effingham.

A private family funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Madonna was born on January 10, 1934, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Lawrence) Cornell. She married Arthur H. Bushur on June 2, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2005.

Madonna worked at Fedders for many years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She liked attending auctions with her daughter. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Madonna loved being surrounded by her family. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

Madonna is survived by her son, Steve (Patricia) Bushur of St. Charles, MO; daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Kensil of Effingham; granddaughter, Dana (Blake) Poe of Effingham; great-grandchildren, Jack, Aubrey, and Jace; siblings, Tom (Doris) Cornell, Verena Niemerg, and Teresa Miller; in-laws, Carl Bushur, Earl Bushur, Bob Bushur, Diane Pullen, and Marilyn Lane; and multiple nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; grandson, Brett Kensil; and siblings, Gertrude Smith, Marie Hicks, Bernadette Norman, Herman Cornell, Loretta Berchtold, George Cornell, Virgil Cornell, Richard Cornell, infant brother James, and infant sister Flossie.
