Arthur William "Bill" Tarr, 81, of Wheeler, Illinois died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24 at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham with Pastor Kevin Colclasure officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham. Burial willl be in Dieterich City Cemetery with military rites. Bill was born August 12, 1931 in Newton, the son of John C. and Winnifred (Davis) Tarr. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #628 in Dieterich. Bill married Beverly Eileen (Fulk) September 3, 1955 in Dieterich.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Wheeler; daughter, Brenda Kay Tarr of Springfield; sister, Jeanne Kibler of Plainfield and brother, Lloyd Tarr of Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
