Juanita June Barnes, 84 of Teutopolis, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 at St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Catholic Charities, as these were charities she had always donated to. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis. 

Juanita was born June 4, 1936 in Peoria, the daughter of Elton and Eleanor (Nauman) Bachman. She worked for Teutopolis High School as a secretary and retired in 2003. Juanita bowled for many years and always enjoyed her bowling trips with her friends and teammates. She enjoyed spending time with her good friend and neighbor, Ellouise Wallin. Juanita loved gardening, spending time planting flowers and watching her grandsons play sports. She made a couple trips to Japan with her husband and daughter to spend time with her son's family. Juanita was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis.

Juanita is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raoul "Leon" Barnes; daughter, Kimberly (James) McCormick of Manteno; son, Timothy (Rika) Barnes of Nagoya, Japan; grandsons, Connor McCormick, Carter McCormick, Dennis McCormick and Kye Barnes; sisters, Colette (Don) Sniff, Jean (Bill) McKinley, Judy (Lyle) Damgaard, Karen Cairns and Mary (Bill) Szelag; brothers, Doug (Marian) and Joe (Jenny) Bachman.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
