Elsie Naomi Orsborn (89) of Neoga

Elsie Naomi Orsborn, 89 of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center in Mattoon, Illinois. She was born November 21, 1931, in Champaign County, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin and Elsie (Bales) Thompson. Elsie married Gene Cole on March 12, 1955, and Mr. Cole passed away December 16, 1985.  She later married Albert Orsborn on January 2, 1988, and Mr. Orsborn passed away on September 28, 2013.

Mrs. Orsborn leaves her sons, Michael Cole (Jodi) of Neoga, Illinois and Terry Cole (Jennifer) of Lyman, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Cole and Mark and Tyler Cole; sisters, Daisy Hanna of Sweeny, Texas and Lois Ogle of Shumway, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gene Cole and Albert Orsborn; special companion, Minor Dishon; children, David Cole and Cheryl Cole; eleven brothers and two sisters.

Elsie spent many years gardening and picking strawberries in the patch. She also enjoyed bird watching and cooking for her family. But most of all she enjoyed the time spent with family. Her boys were the joy of her life. The family appreciated the wonderful care Elsie received at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital. A special thank you to nurses Dawn and Garrett.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM,  Tuesday, December 1, 2020, in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois with Dave Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the French Cemetery of Allenville, Illinois.
