Allan L. Traxler, 73, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Private family services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham.

Allan was born on November 27, 1946, in Decatur, IL, the son of Darren and June (Agge) Traxler. He married Linda Harris on November 20, 1965 in Arthur, IL.

Allan served his country in the United States Army. He managed grain companies for 35 years in Arthur, Montrose, Charlotte, Newton, Bridgeport, and Belleville. Allan loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He was always building things. Allan enjoyed fishing and taking care of his cats. He was member of First Baptist Church in Effingham.

Allan is survived by his wife, Linda Traxler of Effingham; sons, James Traxler and Jason Traxler (Kara Rosine), both of Effingham; grandchildren, Tyler Traxler (Cairra Leasher), Serenity Traxler, Sierra Traxler Savannah Traxler, Skye Haycraft, and Wyatt Haycraft; great-granddaughter, Adleigh Traxler; sister, Mary Traxler of Arthur; niece, Christine Yaden; and nephews, Andrew Traxler and Nick Traxler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Anita; brother, Terry Traxler; and niece, Callie Jo Traxler.
