Nolan J. Kepley, age 85, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 28, 2020, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

He was born September 7, 1935, in Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Elijah and Orie (Bryant) Kepley. He married Ginger Humphrey in 1968, and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2008, after sharing 40 years of marriage.

Nolan was a farmer and had been employed by Ingersoll Rand for many years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, and he and Ginger often traveled and spent their winters in Arizona. Nolan was a lifetime member of the Flora VFW and the Louisville American Legion and had been a past member of the Flora Eagles and Flora Elks.

He is survived by his children: Dale (Ed) Smith, Mike (Susan) Graves, Mark (Louella) Graves, Smokey (Martha) Graves, Melvin Minton, Troy J. (Chris) Kepley, and Tanya
(Jim) Ginder; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother and 2 sisters: Lowell (Shirley) Kepley, Mabel (Rondle) Cowger, and
Mayme Burk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Ginger Kepley; 4 sisters: Leta Fern Kepley, Mary Leone Kepley, Grace Mullins, and Noma (Paul) Mullins; 2 grandsons:
Milo Graves and William Grant Massey; 2 nephews: Steven Cowger and Vaughn Mullins, and a niece: Stacy Burk.

A graveside ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Clay City Cemetery with the presentation of military funeral honors. Keith Kepley will officiate. Those attending are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
