Leonard Dale James, 87, of Greenup, IL passed away at 7:10 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center Urbana, IL.
Services will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Leonard was born November 4, 1932 in Greenup, IL., the son of John Raymond and Mildred (Bell) James. He married Donna Roberts on September 25, 1954.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Richard Eric James of Nevada and Leonard Dale (Sharon) James Jr. of Virginia; daughter, Laura Grey of Greenup; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, John, Walter, Lloyd and Doyle James; and sisters, Delores Finn, Louise Oakley and Doris Ann Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Leonard served his country as a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the U.S Navy for 23 years. He continued work at the U.S Postal Services for eleven years and also farmed.
