Ruben F. Bushue, 95, of Effingham passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Edgewood. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham, with a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, Catholic Charities, St. Anne’s Cemetery or the Donor’s Choice. Ruben was born on October 22, 1916 in Effingham County, the son of Thomas and Grace (White) Bushue. He married Waneta Ruth (Stock) on May 5, 1943, in Kinmundy and she survives.

Ruben was a farmer and raised livestock, he was also a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and loved his grandchildren very much.

Ruben was a lifetime member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Edgewood, presently a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Effingham and also a member of the Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #665.

His survivors include: wife; Ruth, 5 children; Lois (Marion) Kramer of St. Peter, Danny (Maggie Wiedman) Bushue of Effingham, Richard (Sue Jansen) Bushue of Teutopolis, Don (Aleta Flach) Bushue of Effingham and Marsha (Ben) Hilligoss of Tolono, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren; Kim Bushue and Nicholas Kramer, and 3 sisters; Ethel Bushue, Ruby Lidy and Blanch Swingler.
