Stanley Glen Brady, 85, of St. Elmo passed away at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
A Memorial service celebrating his life will be held at C & A Pagel Funeral Home, 100 N. Olive St, in St. Elmo, IL on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Service we be at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pee Wee Denton. Memorials go to Friendship Manor Nursing Home in St. Elmo., or donor’s choice.
Stanley was born on July 1, 1927 in Dixon, IL. John and Annetta ( Owen ) Brady. He Married Elizabeth L. Conley on December 24, 1949 in Carmi, IL.
Stanley had a very exciting life. He drilled oil wells around the world. Places he worked were SW U. S. A., Guatemala, Saudia Arabia, North Africa and the North Sea off the coast of Aberdeen, Scotland.
His lifelong ambition was to fly. He attained that goal and obtained his commercial license. While in Aberdeen he owned and operated a flying service.
He is survived by brothers Daniel Ward (wife Alberta) Brady of St. Paul, Minnesota, Harold Keith (wife Norma) Brady and brother-in-law, William Dagen, also numerous nieces and nephews.
Stanley is proceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers John Dwight, James Niel and sister Alice Catherine Dagen.
