William Lee “Bill” Parks, 87, of Findlay, IL passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at his son’s home in Shumway, IL.

Bill was born on May 12, 1933, in Latham, the son of Minor L. Parks and Bessie L. Summers. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Findlay. He enjoyed auctions, yard sales and tinkering in his shop. Bill did not know a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Surviving are his sons: David (Donna) Parks of Shumway and Charles (Vicki) Parks of Tower Hill; daughters: Virginia Logue of Texas and Rose (Guy) Podbelsek of New Holland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friend and companion, Christine Strode, and her extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sons: Dennis Lee Parks and Andrew Lee Parks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Reverend Jim Allen officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Shelbyville with military honors by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be made in Bill’s name to the First Southern Baptist Church in Findlay.
