Ruth E. Nees, 90, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Louisville, IL, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Bible Grove, IL. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Ruth was born on July 1, 1930 in Reelsville, IN, the daughter of Johnnie and Luana (Martin) Raab. She married Forrest Nees on July 1, 1950, in Poland, IN, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2017. Ruth farmed alongside her husband for over 60 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and the Ladies Aid in Bible Grove. Ruth loved sewing and enjoyed doing crafts.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Conni (Jeff) Cash of Effingham; grandchildren, Megan (Chad) Kutscher of Rochester, IL and Michael Cash of Minneapolis, MN; three great-grandchildren, Landon, Grant, and Annelise Kutscher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Forrest.
