Daniel R. Baxter (81) of Altamont

Daniel R. Baxter, 81, of Altamont, IL, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Dan was born on May 15th, 1939 to Richard and Eula (Wilkens) Baxter in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was self-employed with Data Transfer Inc.

On April 25, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, Sharalee (Schmitz). They had two children, Donald (special life partner, Jeanie Owens) Baxter of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Wendy (husband, Marc Zoschke) Baxter of Springfield, IL & Leesburg, FL; Grandchildren include Michele (Donald) Davis, Andrew (special friend, Tabatha) Baxter, Phillip Baxter, Nathan (special friend, Mackenzie) Baxter, Kristina (Josh) Waggoner, and Samantha (Dennis) Hamilton. Great grandchildren include Weston Baxter, Maxwell Matlock, Parker Baxter, Wren Davis, Zoey Hamilton, Eli Waggoner, Dennis Hamilton, Isaak Waggoner, Olivia Hamilton, Taylor (special friend, Adam) Davis, and Shaylee (special friend, Remington) Davis; Great, great, grandchild includes Wesley Hatfield.
