Margaret L. Rogers, 98, of Chillicothe, Illinois, formerly of Brownstown, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Heritage House Care Center, Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 with Rev. John O’dell officiating. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Street Cemetery in Casey. Margaret was born on Wednesday, January 13, 1915 in Casey, Clark County, Illinois, to Otho and Mollie (Winters) McDaniel. She married H. Dean Rogers, Sr. on July 25, 1934 and he preceded her in death March 14, 1973. Also preceding her were her parents, son-in-law, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
She was a homemaker and had been employed at Murphy’s Variety Store, Vandalia. She was a member of Haley Chapel UMC, Bluff City.
She is survived by her son H. Dean Rogers, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Woodville, WA and her daughter Mescal Brown and her husband Bob of Dunlap, IL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
