Jason Aaron Freeman, 44, of Flora, passed away at 11:57 am on Monday, June 22, 2020 at his home.

Jason was born on July 30, 1975 in Richland County, the son of James Earl and Ardeth (Newton) Freeman Jr.

Mr. Freeman attained a bachelor’s degree majoring in psychology and criminal science. He was a correctional officer at the Lawrenceville Correctional facility and had nearly twenty years of service up until the time of his passing. Jason was a proud Republican and a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump. Jason was a friendly person, enjoyed his dogs, loved St. Louis Cardinal baseball, studied the Bible and was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Flora. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by a brother; Matthew (Heather) Freeman of Flora, a sister; Amy Joelle Freeman of Flora, his grandmother; Freida Freeman of Flora, two nieces; Skylar Freeman, Mattie Freeman, four nephews; Trenton (Sabrina) Freeman, Raiden Freeman, Peyton Freeman and Lyzander Beard, one great niece; Riley Freeman and by many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; James E. Freeman Sr. and Tom & Doris Newton.

Funeral services honoring the life of Jason will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Flora. Reverend Aaron Kangas will officiate. Interment will follow at the Kneff Cemetery in rural Flora. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of services on Friday at the church. Social distancing measures will be implemented and encouraged. Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of the care and arrangements.
