Kenneth H. Buhrmann, 81, of Louisville, passed away at 6:34 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at his home.

He was born on February 19, 1939 in Clay County, the son of the late Henry and Mildred (Allen) Buhrmann. He married Darlene Weidner on February 6, 1960 in Edgewood and she survives. At the age of 17 Kenny enlisted in the United States Navy and served for four years. Kenny worked in the electrical construction before he purchased Ken’s Sunoco in Louisville and Ken’s Tire in Flora; businesses he owned and operated for many years. He was known for treating customers with honesty and integrity. You could always find a hot cup of coffee at Kenny’s place. Kenny was a member of the Louisville United Methodist Church, He taught Sunday School class for years; often using outrageous comments to start a discussion. He liked to discuss politics and world events, he enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and had read the entire bible on several occasions. Kenny had an unwavering faith in God and had a vast knowledge of the Bible. He was always quick with a joke, story or song that brought laughter to everyone.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Darlene, Kenny is survived by a son; John H. & Julie of Louisville, a daughter; Rhonda of Louisville, six grandchildren; Tanya, Jessica, Rebecca, Maria, Andrea and Jason, eleven great grandchildren; Connor, Madison, Katlyn, Chayse, Masyn, Rhett, Jasmin, Ava, Isabella, Olivia and Christian, four brothers; Charles and Sonia of Effingham, Ebert & Laveeta of Mattoon, Henry & Joyce of Edgewood and Larry & Beulah of Hutchison, Kansas, two sisters; Glenda of Canton, Ohio and Shirley & Bob of Edgewood.

Besides his parents Kenny was preceded in death by two brothers; John and Gary, two sisters; Edith and Henrietta, a son-in-law, Daniel and by his mother & father-in law.

Funeral services honoring the life of Kenny will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Bro. Brent Bailey will officiate. Interment will follow at Red Brush Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Good News Publications or to Boys Town and will be accepted at the funeral home.
