Phyllis Coleman (85) of Altamont

 Phyllis Coleman, 85, of Altamont, died at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Lutheran Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Phyllis was born on Sunday, February 10, 1935 in Altamont, IL to Henry and Edith (Thoele) Reiss. She married Jerry Coleman. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Altamont. During her working career she had been a waitress and had worked extensively with horses in association with harness racing.

She is survived by her son, Neil (Annie) Coleman, Shelbyville, IN; daughters, Debbie (Jim) Vermett of Mokena, IL and Sharon (Micky) Pryor of Kevil, KY; brother, Charles ‘Brick’ Reiss of Altamont; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Reiss and Bob Reiss; sisters, Anna Mae McCain and Dorothy Augustine.
