Michael Sean Tappan (50) of Altamont

Michael Sean Tappan 50 years old of Altamont, Illinois died at 1:15 pm Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home at rural Altamont, Illinois.

In accordance with Michael’s intentions and directions cremation services will be served. Cremation Burial rites will follow in rural Altamont for his family and friends. Kull Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Michael was born August 20, 1969 in Lakeland, Florida one of three sons and one daughter into the family of Charles and Catherine Murray-Tappan. He was a graduate of the class of 1987 from Altamont High School. While in school he was active in cross country and track. Michael furthered his education by receiving his BA in Geology from Eastern Illinois University in 1994. He was employed by State of Illinois as a geologist. He continued his entire life for the love of the outdoors and nature.

Michael is survived by his parents Edwin Charles Tappan and Catherine Cecilia Murray-Tappan. 2-Brothers: Christopher (wife Kelli) Tappan of Thompsonville, Illinois and their children Megan (husband Kevin) Faber and Conner Tappan of Watson, Illinois, Thomas (wife Jessica) Tappan and their 3-children Capron, Andrew and Lillie Tappan all of Altamont. 2-Nephews: Seth and Sidney Wethers, and Niece Cea’ Wethers of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his Sister: Jill Renee Tappan-Wethers, his Grandparents: Edwin and Nellie Tappan. Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels and or the donor’s choice.
