Larry H. Mummel (78) of Mode

Larry H. Mummel, 78, of Mode, IL passed away at 9:26 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2020 in his residence with his family by his side.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorials may be given to the Larry Mummel family. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Larry was born on March 11, 1942, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Harold E. and Velma C. (DeVore) Mummel. Larry was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He later owned and operated his own exterminating business and worked as a truck driver for many years. Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting for mushrooms and ginseng.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Penny Simmons (Joey) of Mode, IL; 3 grandchildren, Drew Robison (Jessica), Corryna Phillips (David), and Jessie McFarland (Scott); 10 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Edith Mummel of La Vergne, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edward Mummel (Una), Durward Mummel (June), and Raymond Mummel.
