Ralph L. Stuckemeyer, 90, of Beecher City, IL passed away at 8:42 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Effingham, IL in the loving care of his family.

Ralph was born on October 20, 1929, in Moccasin Township in rural Altamont, the son of Frederic and Ida (Hammer) Stuckemeyer. Ralph and Carroll Diehl were united in holy matrimony of September 30, 1956 and together they raised five children. Ralph and Carroll were blessed with 60 years of marriage before her passing on September 30, 2016. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army having served as a medical clerk in Japan from 1954-1956. Ralph was a life-long farmer and carpenter in Effingham County.

Ralph is survived by his five children: Ronda (husband, Basil) Goers of Altamont, Ronald (wife, Lea Budde) Stuckemeyer of Beecher City, Cheryl (husband, Jerry) Pruemer of Effingham, Carla (husband, Ross) Cornett of Altamont and Cathy (husband, Ronald) Loy of Effingham; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five step-greatgrandchildren; sister, Eileen Wall of Effingham; brothers: Leo Stuckemeyer, Garold (Marlene) Stuckemeyer and Raymond (Elaine) Stuckemeyer all of Altamont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederic and Ida; wife, Carroll; sisters: Lorna Koss and Frieda Will; three brothers-in-law: Donald Holste, Harry Koss and James Wall; two sisters-in-law: Viola Stuckemeyer and Carlene Holste and his Godmother, Hulda Hammer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church-Blue Point in Altamont with Pastor David R. Speers officiating. Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery with military rites by the Altamont VFW Post 7676. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, all at the Church. Memorials may be made in Ralph’s name to the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church-Blue Point Building Fund or donor’s choice.
