Delma was born July 23, 1927, in Marion County, Illinois, the daughter of Peter and Carrie (McElyea) Butts. She was united in marriage to Orval Bohnhoff on September 20, 1950, in Dieterich, Illinois. Together, they lovingly raised nine children. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2007.

Delma was a homemaker. She was an avid baker and gardener, and she always had a home full of freshly baked cookies, homemade noodles, or canned vegetables from her garden. She also enjoyed quilting and playing cards and dominoes. Above all, Delma’s greatest blessings were her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful matriarch and could light up a room with her beautiful smile.

Survivors include sons: Gary Bohnhoff, DeWain Bohnhoff, Lindell (Carol) Bohnhoff, and Kenneth Bohnhoff (special friend Cathy Ensminger), all of Dieterich; daughters: Karen (Dave) Dust of Effingham, Gloria Dittamore of Montrose, Joyce (Bill) Anderson of Noble, and Vivian Phillips of Rockville, Indiana; brothers: Mike (Gloria) Butts and Calvin (Janet) Butts both of Collinsville and Darryl (Barb) Butts of Marion; 34 grandchildren, and an abundance of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orval; daughter, Rita Fox; and other loved ones.
