Henry “Ray” Smith, 71, of Toledo, IL passed away at 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday February 21, 2013 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery at a later date.

Ray was born in Decatur, IL on December 4, 1941 the son of Raymond & Mabel (Simmons) Smith. He married Linda Beaulieu on November 14, 1998.

Surviving is his wife; children Diane (Homer Jesse) Starwalt of Hidalgo, Don Smith of Toledo, Jim (Jamie) Smith of Toledo, Trish Smith fiancé  David Welsh of Sullivan, IL; Step children Lindsay (Bobby) Stone of Flora and Levi Whitehurst of Newton; Brothers Delmer Smith of Peoria and Virgil Smith of Portland, OR; grandchildren Michelle (Seth) Elliott, Becky Starwalt, Devin Waldhoff, Branden Waldhoff, Lily Smith, Tyler Smith and Lucas Smith; step grandchildren  Mikayla Whitehurst, Gavin & Lillyan Stone and one great grandson Wyatt Henry Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his parent’s two sisters Freda and Martha and one brother Vernon.

Ray worked in the Plumbing and heating business for 25 years in the Toledo area, he later worked for Horizon Transportation Corp. delivering motorhomes all across the country. In the past he also was a volunteer Driver for the Toledo Ambulance Service. Ray was an avid pool player belonging to the T.A.P. & A.P.A. pool Leagues. He was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Toledo, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham, IL.
