Randall Dee Sowers, 86, of Jewett, IL passed away at 7:03 PM on November 8, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial with full Military Rites will be in the Aten Cemetery in Hidalgo, IL.

Randall was born on June 23, 1933 in rural Jewett, IL to Dewey & Sylvia (Griffith) Sowers. He married Glenna Dappert on September 7, 1952. Surviving is his loving wife; daughters Pamela (Ed) Dunbar of Greenville, SC, Diana (Joseph) Vandever of Charleston, IL, Cheryl (Lou) Miller of Pekin, IL and Brenda (Kevin) Earnest of Newton, IL; grandchildren Kara (Jeremy) Larson, Analeisa(Steven) Latham, Amy Terry, Karla (Andy) Rector, Jill (Coty) Kistner, Colleen (Mark) Kattenbraker, Emily (Nick) House, Tiffanny (Chris) Sievers, Sylvia (Will) Vandever Roberts, Christopher (Kit) Miller, Mallory (Brady) Hammon, Andrea (Scott) Bierman, Erica (Travis) Weber, Julia Earnest and Mariah Earnest; 24 great grandchildren. Randall was preceded in death by his parents, and son Darrell Gene Sowers and one grandchild Katie Dunbar; sister Helen Barnes; one infant sister and one infant brother.

Randall served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a life-long farmer and worked 17 years for IDOT in Jasper Co. He attended the Faith Fellowship church in Hidalgo, IL and was a member of the Newton American Legion and VFW. Memorials can be made to the Faith Fellowship church.
