Deborah Annette (Brooke) Black of Jewett passed away at home Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 11:53 AM surrounded by family.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 8 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at 8:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date.

Deborah was born July 12, 1961 in Terre Haute, IN. The daughter of Larry and Judith (Dill) Brooke. She is survived by her parents of Casey. Brothers Mike (Karen) Brooke of Queensland, Australia, Rob (Julie) Brooke of Casey, IL, sister Becky (Dennis) Durnal of Casey, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Deborah married David Brian Black on April 16, 1983. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2018.

Deborah graduated from Cumberland High School in 1979. She graduated in 2003 from L.L.C with a major in Business Management. She worked at Fedders Corporation from 1988-2000, was employed at the Toledo Legion from 2000-2006 and most recently in admissions at E.I.U until her illness. In 2016 she started “Lil Dab of Pottery” with the help of her mentor, John Graves.

Debbie or Deb, as most of us have known her, loved life. She was embraced by all and loved by many. She enjoyed the time she had with family, friends and her furry companion “Uriah”.

She was truly an inspiration and will greatly be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to care for her beloved dog “Uriah” in care of Barkley Funeral Chapel (P.O. Box 381, Greenup, IL).
