Lolita June Tipsword, 82, of Beecher City, IL ended her life here on earth on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

June was the youngest of seven children born to Sam and Osea (Horn) Sparks on December 30, 1936. She and Garry Tipsword were married on November 25, 1955 in Mattoon by Reverend Kindig. Together they raised three children. June was a 50-year member of the Beecher City Evangel United Methodist Church and a member of the Beecher City and later Shelbyville Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, was a world traveler traveling to all 50 states, Asia, Micronesia, and Europe. She was also an avid bird watcher, lovingly cared for the elderly in the area over 20 years, delivered Meals on Wheels at the Kluthe Center and loved to care for her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Garry Tipsword of Beecher City; three children: Tena, Tana (Jonathan) and Tawn (Tammy); three grandchildren: Dayna (Jeremy), Casey (Emily) and Lacey (Nicholas); four great-grandchildren: Noah, Elias, Lillian and Gabriel; siblings: Larry, Sam, Lena Rose, Carol Dean and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Bud and Charlie; nephew, Rick; niece, Jill and grandson, Eric.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4 at the Beecher City Evangel United Methodist Church with Pastor Jessica George officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Moccasin Cemetery. Memorials in June’s name may be made to the Beecher City Evangel United Methodist Church or to the donor’s favorite charity. The family ask that you join them after the service for dinner and request casual attire. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
