Charles W. McPeak, 91, of Louisville, passed away at 9:40 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home in Louisville, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on February 17, 1928 in Louisville, the son of the late Osa A. and Lola E. (Tucker) McPeak Sr. He married Mary Thomas on October 9, 1986 in Flora and she survives. Charles was a WWII veteran and served in occupation in Japan from 1946 to 1948.

Mr. McPeak worked for the Clay County Highway Department for 14 years. He was later employed by Wabash Telephone for 25 years where he retired as the Outside Plant Manager in 1991. Charles was a member of Community Southern Baptist Church in Clay City. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and time spent with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by five daughters; JoAnn (Darrell) Schoonover of Louisville, Kelly (Darin) Quinn of Louisville, Julie (Randy) Mitchel of Flora, Brenda (Marvin) Tibbs of Flora and Lori (John) Upton of Flora, a son; Rob (Jean) Thomas of Raeford, North Carolina, seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, a son-in law; Tom O’Dell, a daughter-in-law; Ronda Atkisson and by several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by five brothers; Bobby McPeak, Kenneth McPeak, Osa McPeak Jr., Bill McPeak and John McPeak, two sisters; Rose Freeman and Edna Owens, a daughter; Kathi O’Dell, a grandson; Allen Cosner, and by a son; Richard Atkisson.

Funeral services honoring the life of Charles will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 19 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Pastor Dave Starr will officiate. Interment will follow at Tolliver Cemetery in Louisville where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
