Shirley Ella Irene Wolfert, 79 of Mason, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17 at Bauer Funeral Home with Fr. Chuck Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home. Shirley was born July 12, 1940 in Effingham, the daughter of Elva and Mary (Keller) Wines. She married Arthur L. “Art” Wolfert on November 28, 1959. Shirley was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. She loved to garden and had the most beautiful flowers. Shirley cherished her family and the time she spent with them. She enjoyed sitting on her deck with her family, watching the multitude of hummingbirds that visited daily.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Art of Mason; daughters, Brenda (Bob) Pruemer of Teutopolis and Valerie (Brian) Logsdon of Bethany; sons, Mike (Jill) of Toledo and Brian (Edith) of San Diego, CA; sisters, Carol Turner of Horseshoe, AR and Mary Brown of Charleston; brothers, Frank Wines of Teutopolis and Ronald (Maria) Wines of San Diego, CA; 13 grandchildren, Mallory Pruemer, Lauren Pruemer, Blake Pruemer, Bryce Pruemer, Collin Pruemer, Amber (Adam) Laquet, Brittney (T.J.) Richey, Jessica Wolfert (Justin Finfrock), Devin Wolfert, Hunter Wolfert, Dillon (Emily) Brown, Molly (Derek) Heidemann and Shelby (Jon) Alward; 4 great-grandchildren, Kamryn Wolfert, Tyler Finfrock, Sebastian Richey and Lyanna Alward.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alice Murray, Lettie Musser, Millie Eskew and Charlotte Hastings.
