Brian K. Gillum, 58, of Effingham, IL, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Watson United Methodist Church in Watson. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Brian was born on August 26, 1961, in Lake Charles, LA, the son of Paul W. and Fern L. (Crosier) Gillum.Brian served in the Army National Guard. He worked in the printing industry for many years and was always a good worker. Brian enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and the outdoors. He was a member of Watson United Methodist Church.
Brian is survived by his sons, Christopher Gillum and Michael (wife, Katie) Gillum both of Springfield; step-son, Walt Cartwright of Springfield; parents, Paul and Fern Gillum of Effingham; brothers, Steve (wife, Teresa) Gillum of Effingham, Darren (wife, Jody) Gillum of Dieterich, and Keven (wife, Tina) Gillum of Effingham; 5 grandchildren; 7 nieces; 4 nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one nephew, Brent Gillum; and one great-nephew, Avery Muhs.
