James W. “Jim” Levitt, 72, of Watson, entered eternal rest at his home on Friday, February 8, 2013, at 5:53 AM.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday, February 11, 2013 at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood with Lucas Shelley officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery, Watson. Visitation is from 3 – 6 pm Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Salt Creek Church, Watson.

James was born on June 4, 1940 in Effingham Co. the son of Coleman and Aline (Hampton) Levitt. He was retired from the former Fedders Corp after 47 years of service. He was a member of Salt Creek Church and enjoyed motorcycle riding and spending time with Reta.

Surviving are his children; Lisa Levitt of Paxton and James L. (Sheila) Levitt of Cissna Park, life companion; Reta Zumbahlen of Watson, brothers; Larry (Cheryl) Levitt and Lloyd (Carolyn) Levitt all of Effingham, sister; Norma Heuerman of Effingham, granddaughter; Katie Levitt, step grandchildren; Jason (Gail) Redeker and Jennifer Redeker, step great grandchildren; Gavin Speirs and Peyton Redeker all of Cissna Park, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
