Lillie Irene Reed, 89, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 8:45 a.m. Saturday August 3, 2019 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9 with a one hour viewing prior to service at the Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. Pastor Bob Miller will be officiating. Burial will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery in rural St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Irene was born on June 20, 1930 in Dalton, Illinois to George C. and Maltilda (Hissong) Badman. She married Preslie Warren Reed on August 24, 1947 in St. Elmo, Illinois. She was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church of rural Brownstown, Illinois. She was a member of the St. Elmo Home Extension Association, Royal Neighbors, and was a resident of the St. Elmo community since 1933. Lillie was an excellent cook, and nobody left hungry after eating one of her meals. She and her husband were previously engaged in farming.

Irene is survived by her two sons, Leslie Reed of Beecher City, Illinois, Larry Reed of St. Elmo, Illinois; two daughters, Linda Rider (husband Michael) of Maple City, Michigan, Nancy Arnold (husband David) of Brownstown, Illinois; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Maltilda Badman; husband, Preslie; four brothers, Henry Badman, Leonard Badman, Kenneth Badman and her twin, Eugene Badman; four sisters, Ora Logue, Lucy Dial, Marie Logsdon, Mary Jane Badman, and one step-great-grandson, Chris Wolfe.
