Mary L. ‘Marilee’ Jones, 88, of Effingham, died at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. prior to service time on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Mary was born on Friday, September 12, 1930, in Danville IL, to Ernest and Sylvia (McNary) Rippetoe. She married Herbert Jones and they later divorced. She was a member of Dexter United Methodist church. She had been employed at TA in Effingham for several years, and was the Dexter correspondent for the Altamont News.
She is survived by; her grandchildren, Jeremy Wiseman and Holli Wiseman; and 3 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her daughter, Peggy Wiseman; her brother, John Rippetoe; and sister, Alice Reichert.
