Lyndall Marie Sparling Hammond, age 100, of Roanoke, AL passed away on August 1, 2019.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in South Muddy Cemetery, South Muddy Township, Jasper County, Illinois. Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting with local arrangements. Private family services were held at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel.
She was born on June 5, 1919 to the late Francis Marion Sparling and Goldie Pierson Sparling in Dundas, Illinois.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Leonard Hammond; son, Marion Ellsworth Hammond; grandparents who raised her, Manly and Anna Pierson, Andrew and Gertrude Childers; two grandchildren and twin great grandsons.
Survivors include her son, Leonard Keith Hammond; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
