Lillian Delores Bishop, 88, of Effingham, IL, peacefully entered her Lord’s presence at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Iola Cemetery in Iola, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Full Armor Christian Academy in Louisville, IL towards the Lillian Delores Bishop Scholarship Fund. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.

Delores was born near Edgewood, IL on August 1, 1930, the daughter of James and Golda M. (Limes) Logan. She worked at the Glove Factory in Effingham, IL. She met John her future husband in Iola in 1946 and they were married on February 26, 1949 in Effingham, IL.

She was a woman who loved serving her family and the church. Delores faithfully attended Cornerstone Christian Church. Her heart of love for her family was making beautiful meals of their favorite foods. Delores also loved working with her hands. She sewed many outfits for her daughters when they needed new dresses. She worked with eager hands, crocheting and knitting various doilies, afghans, and table spreads that are displayed in her families’ homes.

Delores is survived by her loving and supportive husband of over 70 years, John; children, Debra (Van) Brentlinger, Susan (Larry) Patton, and Jane Bishop; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Joy Dean Logan, Revenelle Ernest, and John Logan; and in-laws, Lee and Esther Bishop.
