Juanita Faye “Jimmie” Kasey, 94, of Strasburg, Illinois, formerly of Charleston and Neoga, Illiois, died at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in Harmony Center, Mattoon, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 21 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg with Mike Giertz officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 21 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cochran’s Grove Cemetery, rural Windsor. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave., 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001. www.alzfd.org. Juanita was born August 19, 1924, in Strasburg, the daughter of Joe Abe and Lula Maye (Schoby) Young.  She graduated from Strasburg High School in the Class of 1942. Juanita made infant shoes at Brown Shoe Factory in Sullivan during WWII.  She married Ralph “Bus” Kasey November 18, 1945.  Juanita was a farm wife and a homemaker.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, Neoga, and Strasburg. She will be remembered for her walking, quilting and making chocolate chip cookies. Juanita was actively involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren. She followed Christ throughout her life and led her family to follow Him as well.

She is survived by her children, Lee (Sharon) Kasey of Charleston, Joan (Jerry) Willenborg of Greenup, and Nels (Autumn) Kasey of Ashmore,; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Maye Young; husband, Ralph Kasey October 6, 1991 and one sister, Wanda Maye Giertz.
